Why should i join a business fraternity?
A professional fraternity like Delta Sigma Pi enables students to further advance both their networking and professional goals, while also being social. We have various professional events for you to further pursue your professional career, as well as gain knowledge at the same time. A business fraternity is an excellent way to grow professionally and fraternally, while creating life long friendships. Delta Sigma Pi is not just for four years - it's for life!
What are the requirements to join delta sigma pi?
Delta Sigma Pi has a GPA requirement of 3.0. We also only accept any student who is actively pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in any Smeal College of Business major, HRIM, IST, SRA, EBF, Economics, Public Relations/Advertising, LER, Agribusiness Management, Actuarial Math, or is a student of the Division of Undergraduate Studies program.
what is pledging?
Pledging is a process where the brotherhood guides pledges in the direction to better them personally and professionally. The pledge class will work together to complete a professional, fundraising, community service and social project over process. The brotherhood also sets up mock interviews, resume workshops and social, professional, fundraising and community service events throughout the pledging process for pledges to attend.
Can i be in a social fraternity/sorority and delta sigma pi?
Yes! Several of our members are part of Delta Sigma Pi as well as a Greek organization. Since we are two separate organizations, we do not have any conflict of interests.
is rush only once a year?
No! We recruit twice a year, during the beginning of the fall and spring semesters.
What are the time commitments as a brother?
The time commitments of being a brother are quite manageable. We have various professional, fundraising, and community service events, as well as chapter meetings, social gatherings, and more! If any problems arise, we are happy to work with you to help you balance the commitment of being in Delta Sigma Pi.
If i do not receive a bid, can i rush again?
Of course! Do not get discouraged if you did not receive a bid the first time. We have a competitive recruitment process, so we are unable to give out a bid to everyone who rushes each semester. Several of our brothers have rushed multiple times before receiving a bid.
